Our client wanted to build two high-end villa buildings on the land they owned in such a way
that the individual homes could function without disturbing each other providing adequate
intimacy. For both buildings, direct access to the garden was important. The bedrooms are
found on the first floor as well as a “parents” apartment requested by the client, with a
separate walk-in closet and bathroom. The ground floor and the first floor of the building are
thus functionally separated, which is visually accentuated by the large wood textured HPL
panel cladding of the upper section. For both buildings two important character-shaping
elements are the terrace spaces created under the building cantilevers and the "V"-shaped pillar structures.
A spacious entrance hall welcomes you through the entrance, behind which the service units
form a kind of enclosed island. This island organises the functions around itself. To the right
is the garage, to the front the wellness area, to the left the spacious living area.
The massing of this building has resulted in the living room having a double-height ceiling.
This space is characterised by the two-storey high wall made to look like concrete, the
fireplace and the large glass surfaces. The staircase leading upstairs is an important feature
of the living room-dining space. The staircase leads up to the master bedroom, with a unique
access way by crossing a bridge in the two-storey space.
The wellness area's panoramic sauna and large corner window with fully opening sashes
blur the boundaries between indoors and outdoors.
